Mixed media peony painting with a big punch of color!  I really love the peony buds right before they're ready to bloom.  I used bits of sheet music, maps, recipes and other ephemera in the collaged underpainting (which you can see in the photo).  Then I add paint patterns on top, before painting the peonies with acrylic.  You can see bits and pieces of the collaged ephemera peeking through.
This painting is 16x20 on 1 inch cradled wood panel, ready to hang!
